It was the most beautiful day in Chicago today. 85° and sunny. My coworkers I have started a tradition where we go have gelato in the park in the Spring and in the Fall... just for a little weather check. This time last year there was snow on the ground…

Spent St. Patty's Day on Southport. Had brunch with the girls at the new Deleece and took in the atmosphere of the holiday as we shopped and everyone else drank themselves into leprechaun stupor. I even sported green - I never wear this much color - and was the only one! Selika in orange, Simone in yellow and Crister in black! Sadly I did not get photos of Simone and Crister, but will be sure to do that next time we get together!!  I love Chicago on St. Patty's day - I love that most everyone is sporting some shade of green.  Doesn't matter if they are decked out to party it up or if they are just out walking the dog.

Here are Selika's fashion pics for the day ... anytime we get together I have to take her photo for her fashion blog. She's the fashionista of the group for sure!!!

302 { sloane 3 months }

Photo_2-1

Today was Sloane's 3 month photoshoot ... I got a few goodies, but not really what I wanted. I really need to get a light meter before the 4 month shoot. I just seem to never have enough light! She's a super cutie and is so cooperative with a giant lens in her face! This will not be one of those kids that shies away from the camera! Not while Ya Ya is around!! Momma brought funny hats for us to try today ... gonna have to do that bee hat again! Totally out of focus ...but I still love it!

sloane 2 mos

Little Sloane is beginning to smile and giggle and finding her voice.  She's even starting to look more like Bella did when she was a baby.  This time Holly really wanted baby feet ... and let me tell you those are hard to catch when baby is awake.  Toe wiggles like crazy!

bella boo take two

Trying to get to see my girls once a month to hang out and do little photo shoots of Sloane.  This trip Bella got all dressed up so she could have her photo taken too.  What a ham!  But don't you think she's just the prettiest little thing?  And such a good big sister too!

in memory of a great woman

Gma

My grandmother, Mary Ellen Sloan.  92 and a half years old!!

She suffered a stroke about fourteen months ago that left her unable to speak and with limited mobility.  My mother took her home and gave her the best care anyone could hope for.  We were all so surprised she stayed with us as long as she did - held out through the holidays to be able to see everyone one last time.  I am so happy I was able to see her, give her hugs and kisses and tell her I loved her.  She was the most fabulous grandmother a girl could have.  I have such fond memories of my time with her on the farm, at church and the holidays.  I will miss her something terrible, but am so thankful I had 38 years with her.  Hershey kisses all around!

sloane :: one month old

Took a drive to Indiana today for a little photoshoot with Sloane.  She's one whole month old ... still so damn hard to get cute shots of newbies.  Giant props to newborn photographers out there!   She's got beautiful blue eyes just like her sister but we're still unsure of the hair color.  Her eyelashes and brows are blonde for sure...

She was a pretty good subject, but I had to catch the angry face.  It's a good one don't you think?

10 on 10 :: 27 of 30 :: hello sloane

Oh what a day!  It's 10 on 10 challenge day { on the weekend, yeah! } and day 27 of my 30 days of gratitude challenge and the first time I get to see my bf/sister's new baby girl!!  So let's jump right into the fun!!

day 27 of 30 :: daily routine :: I start every day with a cup of tea.  I love the little leaf stem on the forte triangular tea bags!

Then I hit the new market at the Evanston Ecology center - was hoping for a couple of vendors to be there, but sadly they were not ... maybe next week. We saw some good stuff tho!

Then it was time to hit the road ... it was a beautiful day, the sun was shining bright ... if only it wasn't so cold!

I arrived in Chesterton just a couple of hours after momma and baby came home from the hospital.  Little Sloane was all snug as a bug... she is super cute and so stinkin' tiny she doesn't even fit into premie clothes!  Look at her tiny little bracelet!

Img_0702

I spent a little time snuggling with her before we decided to start the photoshoot.  I gotta give huge props to baby photographers!!!  I do not have any idea how the pose these little munchkins.  They just don't cooperate.  I'm thinking maybe she was a little too young at only five days old, but I did get a couple of cuties! Holly purchased this crazy long santa hat off etsy and she wanted to try to recreate the shot from the website - impossible!!

After Sloane was done with her first photoshoot, Holly's friend Nikki came over to bring them dinner { so nice } and hung around for a little bit.  Her adorable little boy was so excited to hold the baby.

Meanwhile, Bella was busy taking photos with her camera.  I caught her snapping a self portrait and asked her to show me.  She's such a ham...

I hung around till it was about dinner time for the Pittman clan ... snapped a few photos of Jeff with his little girl before I left.   He is one proud papa!  Oh and I caught the BEST baby yawn!  Oh how I love a baby yawn!!!

Oh and I had to snap a photo of Xavier's sign.  He made this adorable little sign to hang on the hospital room door - they said the nurses were gaga over it.  Apparently this was a first.

Couldn't officially leave till I got one more snap of Sloane and her big sister Bella B!  We were cracking up because it looks like Sloan is throwing the peace sign...

Back on the road home...

What a great day!  And then I arrived home to this adorable Christmas Card from my friend Kathryn.  Happy Everything!!!

sweet thank you :: 30 days of gratitude :: twenty four

Look what I got in the mail today!  The cutest thank you note from Elliot!

Elliocard

We went to the Chicago One of a Kind show this past weekend and she REALLY wanted this four leaf clover pin ... she had enough money, but I thought it was make a great little Christmas gift for her. So I gave her a crisp twenty dollar bill so that she could purchase the pin.  She was all grins from ear to ear.  Oh how it's the little things...

P.S. I am skipping ahead and making this my 30 days of gratitude :: Day 24 :: gratitude post. Trust me, there is nothing interesting in my closet.
