177 cirque and ferris

My coworkers and I came by some free tickets to the Cirque Shanghai show at the Skyline State at Navy Pier. So we headed down on the most beautiful Sunday to take in the show and finally, finally ride that damn ferris wheel. I've lived in Chicago for 17 years now and for whatever reason had never ridden. Now that I have, I have to say it's totally worth the six dollars. How funny is this ... out of the four of us, only one (Marcey) had ridden that damn ferris wheel before. And, come to find out Christina is not a fan of "rides" - she joked by putting on her bike helmet and conquered her fear of the ferris wheel!

Great views from up there. Maybe next time I will go at sunset - would be lovely with the sun going down behind the city. Sometimes its fun to be a tourist in my city. I feel very fortunate to live in a city that has so many things to do! Love. Love. Love it!

178 out with the old pillow top mattress and in with the new tempurpedic! I hope I'm gonna like it - smells like hell right now and I kinda miss my big fluffy bed. Hoping this change will help my back pain!!

sloane 6 mos

Soooo late editing photos from Sloanes 6 month shoot.  Only a few good ones, but we sure had fun!  *Note to self:  only shoot on white background that is paper - sheets suck as a backdrop.  Much happier with brown fuzzy blanket - even though Sloane kept eating it.*  This kid always has a smile on her face ... I mean how could not love capturing that?  It is so hard to think that she's 6 months already!

190 lemonade

Elliot's lemonade stand was a huge hit! I went and hung out for a little while and was totally impressed by all of the people who stopped to buy cookies and lemonade! They are in a great spot and had lots of college kids stop and partake. So cute!

191 s'mores !!

A little camping in the city!  I mean come on ... who doesn't love a little campfire on a beautiful summer night?  Am I right??   The highlight was clearly the s'mores.  We had some master marshmallow roasters!!

I am telling you - this little nugget has a smile on her face all the time. ALL the time! How could you not love that?? So glad the girls came up and stayed for the night! Lots more photos to process, of course!

205 with friends

Had a superb Saturday filled with friends!  Amanda and I hit the Willmette French Market to pick up a gift I had custom made by one of the vendors of the flea market from last week.  Then we hit this little bakery, Lawrence Deans, I've driven past about a thousand times but have never made it in... and it was great!  I think I may have found our new 'local' cupcake spot!  Then it was off to watch my coworker, Marcey's, field hockey match at Northweatern.  She's pretty damn good!  And they won!  Next up was dinner with the girls downtown in the 'viagra triangle.'  And let me tell you, I could sit out there and people watch all night!  It's fabulous!  And topped off the night over cocktails with the Robinsons and Bernard!!  

I really should have done my 10 on 10 challenge today with all this fun, but I'm kind of a stickler for keeping it on the 10th.

Glorious to view indeed.

Spent longer in Manhattan than I had planned, just couldn't leave those Magees! But, I did manage to roll into town before the Union closed to stock up on some KU swag (one can never have enough), and snap a few photos of campus.

221 the hills are alive

Hiked up to the top of the Konza to find the most beautiful view of the Flint Hills. It's a really nice hike, and totally worth it. I'm so glad I was able to talk Bethany into it! She's a pretty good travel friend!

Oh, and we even ran into a couple that just got engaged, at sunset. How cute is that?
