Today I am thankful for sleep - it does the body good. I am still tired from the last couple of days, but it's amazing what a little extra sleep will do!!!

Today I am thankful for caffeine!! Operating on four hours of sleep is not ideal for this girl... but, it's a small sacrifice for my Jayhawks.

Oh today I am soooooooooo thankful for a KU win over Duke in the Champions Classic! AND I am even more thankful that I got to be at the game to witness it in person!!! Yay!!

Today I am thankful that I grew up in a military town. I have been lucky to know a good number of military families and understand just how much of their lives they devote to serving our country. It's not just one person, it's their entire family. Military families are unique - they create extremely special bonds within their own families (because the move around so much) but also within the military community. They are there for each other in good times and bad and not in a way that any other job would provide. I am so thankful to all of my friends who serve, have served, had parents that served, grandparents that served - they all hold a special place in my heart. I hope they feel a little bit of extra love today, Veterans Day.
10 on 10 { Nov 2013 }
Super Sunday!!! Seriously a fabulous day!! So glad It was the 10th so I had some fun things to share for the November's 10 on 10 challenge! Started the day with some tea - because no day can begin without my tea! Then a selfie to show off my fabulous Target find - chevron infinity scarf { love } Then off to brunch at Beatrix - where they have super cool light fixtures and even better food! { that's caramel pie, oh yes it is! } Met my cousin and his boyfriend - haven't seen them in forever it seems - so great to catch up with them! Then I was off to Bucktown for pizza and beer at my favorite Piece before the show! With quick little pitstop on my friend's rooftop for a peek at the view - I think I would sleep up there if this was what I'd wake up to!! Oh and then my love, John Legend, sang to me (and a few other people) for a couple of hours! The perfect end to a Sunday! Here's hoping for a great week!!

Today I am thankful that I live in Chicago. It's a city with endless opportunity. I love this city and all that it has to offer - I am never bored here. Art, architecture, sports, theater, food, music ... and a million other tiny things! Chicago, you're my kind of town!
marcey weds
My friend and coworker Marcey wed on Friday among a few family and close friends. This was my first muslim wedding and I was completely fascinated by the whole thing! I snapped a few photos to document the day and wish her and the new hubs all the very best.

Today I am thankful for Adobe Lightroom. It has changed my photo editing and workflow forever! I still use Photoshop from time to time, but Lightroom is the bestest! Now if only I could get all my Photoshop actions in LR...

Today I am thankful for culture. I love to learn about new cultures and traditions and today was one for the books! Our dear coworker Marcey wed in an intimate muslim ceremony here in Chicago. I didn't understand everything they were saying, but was completely fascinated by the whole process. I am truly fortunate to have friends from so many diverse backgrounds!!
