(18) my shoes :: these are a cute pair of flats that I got in Stockholm, Sweden a few years back. I love, love, love them. Those Sweds are so stylish. It's the one thing I really noticed while walking around Stockholm. People of all ages were dressed so naturally stylish - lots of great jackets and scarves. Young and old!

(17) technology :: sorry for the somewhat crap photo, but it's been two extremely busy days!! I was lucky to get anything in at all!! So anyway... I am a gadget girl. I embrace technology and am tech support for pretty much everyone I know. Out of all the gadgets in my life, none can rival the iPhone. At this point, I could simply not live without live without it. I am so excited for the new one - supposed to be out within the next month! I will be there day one for sure!!

Outtakes from last nights' long exposure... sat the leica on the dash to see what I would get. Sometimes things are fun when not in focus.

(16) long exposure :: hello chicago! 27 sec exposure watching the clouds overtake the city and the rain begin to fall. Only fired off about 10 shots before it got too wet, but I think this one is a keeper!
Took this shot east of Montrose Harbor. Not a whole lot of people out since it was raining, but I did see a raccoon diggin' in the rubbish bin for tonights dinner. Eew!! Oh and I think my 8 gig CF card is on it's way out. Been acting funny lately and not wanting to create folders. Which brings me to a question for you photographers out there... do you "erase" images after each shoot or do you "format" the card after every shoot??

(13) me with thirteen things :: This was easy - I love the website The Burning House. It's a feed of people from all different ages, countries, interests that take a photograph to represent what you would take with you if your house was burning down. Super hard to pick amongst my belongings because I like 'stuff.' But when it comes down to it, there are only a few things that I would really need if the house was burning down.
[ from top left ] wallet . water bottle . (ignore the cat toy ... only way to get the kids in the shot) . Phoebe . camera bag full of equipment . Lucy

(12) sunset :: The weather didn't really cooperate with me today and was all cloudy and merk. I was lucky to get any peeks at the sky because most of the day was cloudy! Since we're on the west side of the lake, we only get sunrises over the water ... Gotta be in a boat to see the sun set behind the city.
It was pretty cold by the lake, so it was just me and this little guy .... he was checkin' me out.

(11) something blue :: Tweaked my back something awful from running around the city yesterday carrying way too many bags. Called for a last minute appointment for a massage at Asha tonight. And thank goodness they had an opening and a pretty good massage therapist. He did all sorts of stretching and twisted me in every which way. I feel better, but this one might take a few days to work itself out. I guess it's time for more lower back exercises huh...
So ladies... here's my question for you. Birthday suit or bikini for a massage? I never know how far to go...

(10) childhood memory :: OK, am I the only one that thought this was next to impossible? I have a zillion childhood memories, most of which I cannot think how to photograph now ... It did get me digging into the memory archives and I decided to go with my first memory. Apparently I was four, it was June 18, 1977 and Elvis was on stage at Kansas City's Kemper Arena. My mother, a huge Elvis fan, went to see him and left me at home with my father for the night. I don't remember a whole lot, but I remember that he fixed me a TV dinner, likely my first. It was just two months later that Elivs died and I remember my mother was sad.
Why on earth would this be my oldest memory? Who the heck knows ... but Elvis was always in the house. I remember my parents had a HUGE record collection (that they later sold and bought a truck!), and tons of Elvis memorabilia. He was damn good lookin' in his younger years ... pre rhinestone jumpsuit era. *wink*
