Had the best time celebrating my friend Kathryn's birthday last weekend in Scottsdale. She's got a great group of girlfriends that made the drive up from Tucson while Kendra and I flew in from Chicago. I got there a little early on Friday so we had a chance to catch up on all of life's happenings. Funny that neither one of us could remember how long it had been since we've seen each other, but no matter ... we just picked right up where we left off. The girls started rolling in early evening and the fun began! Who has the bundt cake?
Oh and we stayed at the Hotel Valley Ho and loved it! The mid-century mod vibe was great and the staff super attentive. I could hang out by that pool every single day!

Saw Tim Reynolds at Evanston Space on Halloween and man, that guy can play the guitar. So impressed! Oh and one of my friends brought Fran's gray salt chocolate caramels back for me. Heaven!!!

I am so, so behind posting my 365. Please forgive me. I will admit I've lost my enthusiasm for the photo challenge, but I'm trying to not give up.
10 on 10 { nov 2012 }
Ahhhh finally the tenth lands on a weekend! So happy to be able to photograph something other than work! Sadly, the day was filled with repair men, errands and furniture moving to prepare for painters tomorrow. I am so happy to finally be getting a fresh coat of paint, but I have waaaaay too much furniture to move around! Maybe it's time to donate some stuff!! A huge thanks to my awesome friends, the Robinson's, for lending me some muscle! I could not have done it without you! Hoping the painters can finish in a day so I can get everything put back together! Happy Saturday peeps!

pumpkin fest
Attended the Highwood Pumpkin Fest in Highwood, IL last weekend with the Levens. And let me just say there were a LOT of pumpkins! Somewhere between 28,000 and 30,000, I hear. Apparently they were trying to win HGTV's Pumpkin Wars and break several records. They were competing against New Hampshire and I believe Highwood won! The show is set to air on Halloween. The amount of pumpkins was overwhelming. AND they lit them one at at time - each had one or two tea lites inside. Insane!

SERIOUS catch up kids! So yeah, life has been wizzing by at a pace that I can barely take a photo, let alone post it and blog about it. Not sure if I should be happy about that or sad... one does not want to spend too much time in the virtual world, but I do find I miss blogging when it's been a while... So here are days 78 thru 68.
79 bed!
I have been looking for a "real" bed for years! I don't know why I see it as such a commitment, but it's one of those items that you should have for a really long time. So finding just the right one that I could live with seemed overwhelming. Leather? Linen? Lacquer? As a designer, I often times find myself paralyzed by the possibilities. Silly, I know.
So when I saw this navy linen gem come across my email on One Kings Lane, I decided to click buy! I NEVER purchase furniture that I haven't seen in person, but for some reason this just jumped out at me. It finally arrived this week and my awesome friends, the Robinson's, came over to help me assemble!
Finally, I have a real grown up bed! It's the little things I tell you..

Oh how I love Fall! I love the food - pumpkin everything! - and it's the only time of year that I can find my favorite ice creams! Cinnamon is probably my all time favorite ice cream. It has been since I was a kid. In the off season I will buy a really good vanilla, melt it a little bit and add cinnamon to make my own. :)
